New School Building

The school was built and they tried to aim for as much green as they can and as little concrete or stone.

I think they failed. The room I am sitting in has two big concrete pillars holding the concrete roof up. This is one room out of about 81 and it is already about 1/3 concrete. They also wanted to have alot of green, and  I feel as though they do not have much at all, they have no grass that we can go to and sit on and and realax. In my opinion I feel this shows that they failed in trying to make it more green and not so mch concrete. 

Nomis

The company that I would like to work for is called Nomis. Within this company i would like to help advertise them, although a few major rugby players and football players wear them, i dont think that they are well advertised. I.E www.prodirectsoccer.com is one of  the biggest website for advertising football boots, and Nomis who consider themselves better than nike and adidas are not even on the website. If they want more big names than what they already have wearing them they need to advertise them properly and put the boots into  as many advertisers as they can.

London UNderground

The London Underground map is easy to use, it follows the form vs function, alot of other underground use the same map which proves that it is a great design, and it was created about 70 years ago, so if it was not easy to understand or not a good design it would have been changed by now.

The chair is a great design because it is a revolution in technology materials, new materials in new shapes.

Precourse Survey

Every year in school a teacher has assigned us to create a poster, about french verbs, or different countries, or different religions and so on.... Last year in ENglish with Ms Freeman, we were assigned to create a poster on countries with problems. My group and I were assigned a country in africa, and although at the time i thought it was very well designed, now i think back at it it couldve been better. We could have improved our poster by not leaving as many white spots, or having a lot of attractive colours to attract readers. 

As i read more about great designs and what is a great design and what isnt it shows me that i have still got a lot to learn.

• Best selling products are good designs

• Good design aren’t as good as we thing because they are very hard to use

• Design should match up with expectation (need to fulfil)

• Old technology good and useful, new is complicated but looks better

• Value is added to the uniqueness of a piece

• Ease of use

Great Design 2

• Every product should be produced as cheap as possible

• A lot of things have to be taken into consideration when designing something

• Design only costs once, but it brings in more and more money, with ever product it sells

• Simple things don’t sell better, because more complicated things are needed such as colour types etc.

• Design can change lives of humans

• Artists beauty is irrelevant

Great Design 3

• Design gets you to be the #1 sold product in your category

• Getting every aspect of the design perfect, making a usable product, making the right tradeoffs between price and functionality, between flexibility and ease of use, between weight and battery life is not 100% necessary to be the best selling product

• Design has to be state of art

• No one should be able to compete with your design (it should be a must have product)

• Design has to meet my customer’s needs

• Design does not have to be 100% perfect (example: red bull)

• Has a certain flaw

My ipod

I choose my ipod as my great design, since i think that it is a great thing to have. It is great to have because, you can listen to music for the whole day without running out of battery since you can listen to it for 40 hours with out the battery dieing, or you can watch up to 7 hours of movies. It has 80 gb of memory so you can have up to 40,000 songs. on the ipod video you can obviously download songs onto it, you can watch movies, tv programs, watch games, and you can do alot more things. So therefor the ipod can do everything you would want an mp3 player o do and alot more, the ipod is also very nice you can get it in in silver or black, i think it is a great design.

Food companies are now focusing on there web design more than they did before.

Advertisers have looked at the internet as tool for making everything possible.

Companies have now made t possible to let people choose exactly what they want to do.
